Sketchy Saturday

It's Saturday!  You know what that means!  Another sketch challenge from Carol on the UDI blog.  I needed a birthday card for my daughter's friend, so that is what I made with today's sketch after I turned it on its side.  :)

I used some gorgeous, glittery Sending Love DSP (It's not just for Valentine's Day!) from the Occasions mini and 2 SAB sets I got for FREE!  See that cake?  There are only 10 candles on the original image.  Since B is turning 12, I just drew 1 more on each side.  I know...I'm a genius!  LOL  Let me know what you think, and then head on over to the UDI blog to see what everyone else did with today's sketch.

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- Happy Moments, Vintage Labels.  Ink- Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Close to Cocoa.  Paper- Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Sending Love DSP.  Accessories-  Scallop Circle punch, 1" Circle punch, Pretty in Pink taffeta, mini glue dots, dimensionals, Stampin' sponge.

Inspiration Thursday

It's Thursday again!  Time for another Inspiration Challenge on the UDI blog.  Today's picture is a lovely spring bouquet Maria found for us.  I used the theme and the colors for my card.

I used Happy Moments with Tiny Tags and the Medium Jewelry Tag punch on my 3 X 3 notecard.  The cardstock colors are Basic Gray and Whisper White.  I colored the flowers with markers in Barely Banana, Pumpkin Pie, Almost Amethyst, Pretty in Pink and Garden Green.  The sentiment is stamped in Basic Gray.  The Medium Jewelry Tag punch is outlined in Basic Gray and adhered with dimensionals.  Basic Gray taffeta is the finishing touch.

Let me know what you think and then head on over to the UDI blog to see how everyone else was inspired.

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- Tiny Tags, Happy Moments.  Ink- Jet Black stazon, Barely Banana, Pumpkin Pie, Almost Amethyst, Pretty in Pink, Garden Green.  Paper- Basic Gray, Whisper White.  Accessories-  Medium Jewelry Tag punch, Basic Gray taffeta, dimensionals.

Sketchy Saturday

Good Saturday morning!  It's time for another UDI Sketch Challenge.  Today Carol threw in a couple surprises for us.  We were to use a line art image and cutting.  The line art image didn't bother me, but I'm scissor-challenged, and I was quite worried about the cutting part.  Wanna know what I cut?  Well, I'll tell you.  I cut the Certainly Celery card stock, and the Barely Banana card stock and the Regal Rose card stock with my table-top cutter.  I also cut out some shapes with some different punches.  She didn't say what we had to cut with, right?  LOL

Anyway...

My line art image is from Pun Fun.  I stamped it on Whisper White with Jet Black stazon.  The Barely Banana layer was run through the Big Shot in the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  The Regal Rose strip went through the crimper.  The sentiment was cut out with the Word Window punch and layered on a Regal Rose Modern Label punch.  I used mini glue dots to adhere the Sweet Pea felt pieces.

That's it for me today.  Let me know what you think about my card (and my cutting), and then head on over to the UDI blog to see what everyone else created.

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- Pun Fun.  Ink- Jet Black stazon, Barely Banana, Regal Rose, Certainly Celery.  Paper-  Certainly Celery, Barely Banana, Regal Rose, Whisper White.  Accessories-  Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, Sweet Pea stitched felt, Modern Label punch, Word Window punch, 1 3/4" Circle punch, mini glue dots.

Vintage Birthday

WooHoo!  It's finally Friday!  I hope you have plans for a fabulous weekend!     My daughter is having a friend spend the night tonight.  She's already told me that they are not planning on sleeping.  Does that mean I have to stay up all night too?  I'm too old for all-nighters.  LOL  Anyway, on to the card.  :)

My mom requested a birthday card for a co-worker.  The birthday cake was white with blue flowers so I used that for my color combo.  I made my own DSP using the Vintage Vogue set and Night of Navy, Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery ink.  After I stamped all the flowers and vines, I sponged on a bit of Night of Navy ink.  The sentiment and frame is from the SAB set, Vintage Labels.  I sponged that piece also.  It's punched out with the Wide Oval punch and layered on a Lots of Tags die-cut.  I added a strip of Night of Navy punched with the Scallop Trim border punch.  A piece of Bashful Blue taffeta is the finishing touch.  I decorated the inside, too.  You can just see the edge of the Vintage Vogue border stamp.

Have a fabulous Friday!  I'll be back tomorrow with my submission for the UDI Sketch Challenge.

Inspiration Thursday

Happy Thursday!  It's time for another inspiration challenge on the UDI blog.  This week's picture is so yummy!  I used the colors and the theme for my creation. The layout is the Cards & Thing sketch for this week.

My card base is 4 1/4" X 4 1/4".  The next layer is 4" X 4".  The gorgeous, glittery DSP squares are 2".  The scallop circle is from the Scallops #2 die. I pokes holes with my paper piercer in each scallop. The Pretty in Pink and Very Vanilla circles were cut with the Circle Scissors Plus.  The image is stamped in Chocolate Chip.  I stamped it again on a piece of DSP and paper pieced the liner. The sprinkles are covered in Dazzling Diamonds.  A piece of taffeta ribbon threaded through a corduroy button is the finishing touch.

Let me know what you think, and then head on over to the UDI blog to see what everyone else created.

A Blog Award

I had a wonderful surprise in my inbox this morning.  Andrea  presented me with a Happy 101 Award.  Thanks so much!  You made my day!

Here are the rules.
1. Copy and paste the award on your blog.
2. List who gave the award to you and link to her blog.
3. List 10 things that make you happy.
4. Pass the award on to other bloggers and visit their blog to let them know!

Ok.  Ten things that make me happy.  I have so many happy things in my life, I'll try to keep it short and sweet.  1.  My family.  I love them so much, even when they're trying to drive me crazy!  ;)  2.My real-life friends.  Even though we're all busy, and I don't get to see them all the time anymore, I know if I need something, I can count on them. 3. My cyber-space friends.  I have so many wonderful online friends.  Some I have even been blessed to meet IRL.  4. My home. It needs some work, but it's the only home my kiddos know.  5.  Stamping.  This hobby has brought me some fabulous friends and is my stress relief.
6.  Working from home.  I love to be able to sit at my desk and work in my jammies once a week.  :)  7. Volunteering.  I volunteer whenever I can at my kiddos' school, and I am the school's newsletter editor. 8. Hearing the birds singing. 9.  Playing games with my kiddos. (As long as they don't beat me too bad.  LOL)  10.  Seeing my kids bloom every day!

I guess that's enough for now.  I will pass this award on to Adriana, Ruthie, Robin, Carol and Leonie.  They are friends from UDI.  :)

Enjoy what's left of your day.  I'll be back tomorrow for Inspiration Thursday.
